Project Background

Sabina Akter, a resident from Kishoregonge, was badly in need of a prosthesis for her amputated left leg. Her family appealed to KONA Foundation for help.

At a young age of 7, Sabina Akter got into a severe car accident. This accident was the cause of many hardships that sh had to endure in her life. The devastating accident resulted in her having to get her left leg amputated from the ankle-down and forced her to rely on getting a prosthetic leg.

The 33 years old did not have the privilege of getting proper education. This lack combined with the result of the brutal accident she had to face, has had her demotivated and struggling with employment.

Therefore, when Sabina was struggling to stay afloat, KONA Foundation and CDD rose to the situation. KONA helped her financially and CDD (Centre for Disability in Development) helped her medically. On the 11th of October this year, Sabina has received her new prosthetic leg. KONA Foundation wishes her the best and hope to aid many others like her in need of help.

Result- Sabina can walk now with the help of her prosthetic leg. She is looking forward towards a new life.

Beneficiary’s Feedback/Testimony:- Sabina and her family expressed their gratitude to KONA Foundation.
